Of course, every child learns at a different pace, so an app adjusts the number of levels to meet the needs of their individual student. In iTrace, a child traces each letter 3 times on every level out of 30 for each letter. While creating the app, we found out that children learn best when they repeat every exercise at least 3 times. Our mission back then - and today - remains to make early childhood education productive and relaxed, natural at the same time. We designed iTrace over 5 years ago to teach children to write block and cursive letters and numbers. ![]() Gothic literature summary8/3/2023 ![]() ![]() Especially since this was a pleasure to read from the beginning to the end. ![]() Lovecraft in the chapter about twentieth century Gothic, but those are things that I can overlook and therefore they do not hurt the score. There are a few sentences which sounded strange, as if a word or two was missing, and I do miss H.P. As long as you don't mind the spoilers that is. If you want to get to know Gothic novels and their authors on a personal plane, this is a book for you. It also offers the reader information of both famous novels and novels which are, perhaps, a bit forgotten. Andrew Smith touches a round of important perspectives, like historical, feminist, and cultural in general. It works well for both beginners, those who seek to gain further knowledge of the subject, and those who have no previous knowledge of the subject. This book is, as it claims, a nice introductionary guide to the Gothic. Key Features *Provides a single, comprehensive and accessible introduction to Gothic literature *Offers a coherent account of the historical development of the Gothic in a range of literary and national contexts *Introduces the ways in which critical theories of class, gender, race and national identity have been applied to Gothic texts *Includes an outline of essential resources and a guide to further reading The book ends with a conclusion outlining possible future developments within scholarship on the Gothic. Each chapter concludes with a close reading of a specific text - Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, Dracula and The Silence of the Lambs - to illustrate the ways in which contextual discussion informs critical analysis. The discussion examines how the Gothic has developed in different national contexts and in different forms, including novels, novellas, poems, and films. ![]() The book opens with a chronology and an introduction to the principal texts and key critical terms, followed by four The Gothic Heyday 1760-1820 Gothic 1820-1865 Gothic Proximities 1865-1900 and the Twentieth Century. Andrew Smith This introductory study provides a thorough grounding in both the history of Gothic literature and the way in which Gothic texts have been (and can be) critically read. ![]() Quick node guide8/3/2023 ![]() Another notable security feature is the authentication token rolling feature. This security feature is very important to block unauthorized access to your node. For example, if you've added `` in the QuickNode UI, your HTTP request should have as the `Referer Header`, and if you're using the WSS endpoint the `Origin` header must be set to exactly what you've whitelsited in the UI. Note: While using this feature you must make sure that all the requests your website is sending to node have the Referer HTTP Header set exactly to what you've whitelisted in the QuickNode UI. It will only respond to the requests made by the whitelisted referrer. Let us try to make a cURL call to our node.Īs you can see, the node did not respond. So now, only the requests to our node made directly from will be served.Īs you can see, the node is responding completely fine on that domain now. Add the domain in the field below 'Referrer Whitelist' and click on 'ADD'. Just enter the domain without the 'HTTP/HTTPS' protocol. Now, enter the desired hostname/domain you want to whitelist without URL fragments like '#section', '/resource', or user info like 'username:password'. If you don't have it already, you can get a free trial node, then go to the security section of that node. ![]() First of all, you will need to boot a node. Let us have a look at how we can set up a referrer whitelist with QuickNode. You can whitelist a referrer which means that you can restrict requests to only be served from a certain domain, and all other requests will be rejected. If someone gets possession of this URL, they can then make unauthorized calls to your node, which will result in excess usage not done by you, so in such cases 'Referrer Whitelist' security feature of QuickNode comes in handy. At some point, you will need to store the codebase of your dApp on a code hosting platform like GitHub at this point, you have your codebase hosted on GitHub, and your active QuickNode node URL is present in the code. Let us assume that you're building a dApp (decentralized application), which uses your QuickNode node to interact with the blockchain. Now, let us understand Referrer in the context of using QuickNode. Using referrers, servers identify the origin of requests. It is the part of the HTTP request which specifies the address of a web page, which is usually linked to a resource. A referrer is actually misspelled as 'referer' in the HTTP standard. What is Referrer whitelisting? įirst of all, let us understand 'What is a referrer?'. ![]() In this guide, we will see how to avoid this and learn how to set up a referrer whitelist on a QuickNode node. Not all music streaming services are available in DJ software, with Spotify and Apple Music – the two biggest – absent.īut Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud and others are available. If you already have a streaming service subscription, why wouldn’t you add it to your DJ software? In other words - have one Group or something that serves as your catch-all “Retrieve” group, and then structure various Groups for ‘synthesis’, as you were planning to, but inside that same DB.ĪFAIK, the single biggest benefit of this would be that you are able to search/use the AI etc. One point I’d throw in – not that I’m a long-time user or anything – but couldn’t you achieve the same by still using 1 DB? Love reading other approaches to structuring DBs! Thanks for sharing! On the other hand, on the looser databases, the AI often suggests “creative” connections you may not have expected! On tighter databases, this makes for powerful classification and suggestions “easier” on the AI. The AI makes logical connections from static data (oftentimes better than we do). It doesn’t abstract information in the way we do (nor can it). ![]() One thing to consider: “auto-grouping” will likely not function as well in the loose databases, as connections won’t be as easily detected.Īlso, while the AI is amazing, surprisingly so, it is still just a computer. Our search capabilities are so good, finding “needles in a haystack” is often still easily done. When I do, it’s usually when I’m testing something. I rarely even group much of the data in these. I also have very loose databases I capture data too, very organically. I also have other organized databases on more focused topics, like Health, etc. I have a Support database that’s well organized (though I occasionally have to rearrange / file extemporaneous captures and notes). Thoughts? Opinions? Has anyone else tried anything like this? Thus, I would be honoring my nature and at the same time mitigating my inefficiency with routine file retrieval. The result I would like to get from this setup is that I would go to Retrieve to store something that is static, or at least in progress on the way to becoming static but I would go to Synthesize to make connections and generate ideas. In this database I’m thinking I might not create any groups at all, but might just have DT auto-group from the inbox. Could include notes/excerpts from books I’ve read, articles, videos, social media posts, random notes to myself, paragraphs I’ve written that I like but haven’t found a use for, out-of-date work that I don’t want to throw away, etc. In the Synthesize database, I’d store what I think of as resources. In this database I’d make use of Groups (using topic as an organizing principle, probably) to keep everything easy to find. Could be anything from bank statements to recipes to white papers or graphic designs I’m working on at work. ![]() In the Retrieve database I’d store records and files that I need to quickly find. So now I’m thinking of creating just two databases: Retrieve and Synthesize. I’ve come to understand that it just will not work to treat the records I need to retrieve in the same way that I treat the information I want to collect, compare, and connect. None of them has stuck except Evernote, and that’s out of pure laziness. In addition to DT, I’ve tried The Brain, Evernote, and a raft of note-taking, project management and task management tools (OmniFocus, Pagico, Pear Note, Tinderbox, Curio, and many, many others). This is not helping me retrieve anything. My file names say things like FINALproductionversion.doc and SeriouslyFINALproductionversion.doc and AbsolutelyFINALproductionversion.doc. It takes me forever to find the note where I jotted down my credit card repayment plan, or the most recent version of a white paper or infographic I’m doing for work. Unfortunately, this thinking style means I am “disorganized” when it comes to retrieving records from amid the piles of my collections. My particular talent is arranging and rearranging unlike things to generate ideas, and this is the main reason I’m trying to manage information outside the finder’s file structure, which is too linear for me. I have trouble grouping and tagging things because my brain is more like a spiderweb, where one node has many connections, than a filing cabinet, where things have distinct relationships. I am a synthesizer by nature, and strongly idea-oriented so that means I collect and consume (or rather hoard and gorge on) unwieldy numbers of books, articles, notes, quotes, videos, music, etc. I have owned DT Office Pro for quite awhile and have a spotty usage history, because I couldn’t figure out a way to make it work for my thinking/processing style. ![]() Obelisk the tormentor funko pop8/2/2023 ![]() Sold as is, please take a look at all of the pictures to judge the condition for yourself, will ship quickly and securely.
